Will Allah forgive my sins?
Sometimes you think you are expelled from Allah’s Mercy, when you recall your history and you see that you have committed all the sins and Haram, you believe this is your end! But fortunately, it is NOT, as you still have a chance to change your compass to the right path. If you feel that you have committed too many sins, you may wonder, “Is it time to repent? Will Allah forgive my sins?” The answer is yes: Allah’s mercy is vast, and the door of repentance is open to those who sincerely turn to Him. Listen to the Holy Words of Allah
“Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship, but He forgives except that (anything else) to whom He pleases”
“إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَغْفِرُ أَن يُشْرَكَ بِهِ وَيَغْفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ لِمَن يَشَاءُ”
Surah Al-Nisaa:40
Steps to Repent Sincerely to Allah
So, no matter what your past was like, you are alive now and can worship Allah, seeking His pleasure and forgiveness. There are several essential elements of sincere tawbah (repentance). The first is to acknowledge your sin and regret committing it. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“Regret is repentance”.
Second, you should be determined never to return to your sins. Set a goal and make a plan to help you avoid falling into the same sins again. Third, ask Allah for forgiveness, weep if you feel moved to do so, acknowledge your weakness before Him, and beg Him for His mercy. Fourth, if the mistake can be rectified, take steps to put it right. You can also make amends by performing good deeds and helping the poor and needy through sadaqah (charity).
These are some essential steps towards repairing your relationship with Allah and beginning to lead a better life. We live to please Allah and hope for His reward in this world and the Hereafter. May Allah forgive our sins and grant us the opportunity to repent sincerely before we meet Him.
Remember, it is never too late to turn back to Allah. No matter how many sins you have committed or how far you feel you have strayed, never despair of His mercy. Take the first step towards sincere repentance today, seek His forgiveness, and strive to become a better Muslim. Allah loves those who repent and purify themselves. May Allah accept our repentance, forgive our sins, guide us to what pleases Him, and grant us a good ending. Ameen.
