One Ummah…One Body…One Heart

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “The believers, in their mutual kindness, compassion, and sympathy, are just like one body. When one of its limbs suffers, the whole body responds with wakefulness and fever.” Every Muslim should support and stand up for their fellow Muslims to the best of their ability and judgement beneath one umbrella of one Ummah. First and foremost, a Muslim should strive to be righteous, obey Allah, and avoid what He has forbidden. Muslims should seek every possible way to help and support others, such as working to end any form of oppression that threatens their fellow Muslims’ lives and recognising their right to live in safety. However, this is not always easy!

How to Support Your Muslim Brothers and Sisters

Thus, making du‘a is an amazing way to help your fellow Muslims. If you cannot participate directly in their situation, you can show them that you care about them, believe in their rights, and stand up for them. Speak about their circumstances and share the facts with the world. You can also give sadaqah (charity) and find out what they need, supporting them financially by providing food for their children, women, and elderly people, as well as the healthcare they need. These are some ways to demonstrate unity with your brothers and sisters in Islam.

Remember, the strength of the Muslim Ummah lies in our unity, compassion, and support for one another. Let us stand together as one Ummah, help those in need, and ask Allah to relieve the suffering of Muslims everywhere, grant them peace and safety, and unite our hearts upon goodness. Ameen.
