The wisdom of learning the signs preceding the Hour (read parts 1 and 2 ) is to inform people about them, to awaken them from their negligence, and to encourage them to take precautions with repentance and renewed devotion, such that they will not be caught off guard and be unable to make up for their shortcomings. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said when he was asked about the Sign of The Hour:
مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا
What have you prepared for it?
Thus, before we continue exploring the rest of the Signs of Hour, we need to be honest and face the fact that we should be ready to face its appearances.
Yajuj and Majuj. They are two huge nations of the sons of Adam. They exist at present, and they are attempting on a daily basis to get out and attack people. But there is a barrier that keeps them away from us (the human beings) that was built by the Muslim king and the great leader Dhu’l-Qarnayn as mentioned in Surah Al-Kahf. They are described as a powerful and destructive force, Allah says in the Holy Quran, Surah Al-Kahaf, Aya 94 ”They said, “O Dhul-Qarnayn, indeed Gog and Magog are [great] corrupters in the land. So may we assign for you an expenditure that you might make between us and them a barrier”. When Allah wills, they will dig their way through this barrier and emerge to attack the people. They will destroy everything in their way, they will finish water, food and any sign of life on the earth. When there are no more targets left for them, Yājūj and Mājūj will shoot at the sky, hoping to destroy heaven. Then, Allāh will attack their necks with worms that will fill their ears and noses, and they will be killed.
The Sun Rising from the West. The Prophet (may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon him) said: “The Hour will not come until the sun rises from the west, and when it rises (from the west) and people see it, they will all believe (in Allah). But that will be the time when {belief will be of no benefit to those who did not believe before, or those who did not do some good through their faith} [Surat al-An‘ām: 158]. The Hour will come (so suddenly) that two persons spreading a garment between them will not be able to finish their bargain, nor will they be able to fold it up. The Hour will come while a man carrying the milk of his she-camel, but cannot drink it. The Hour will come when someone is not able to prepare the tank to water his livestock from it. And the Hour will come when one of you has raised his food to his mouth but cannot eat it. Sahih/Authentic. – [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
The Beast of the Earth. Allah will cause a beast to emerge from the earth in the forenoon. The beast will speak to people when mankind has become corrupt and neglected the commands of Allah and changed the true religion. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: (Hasten to do good deeds before six things appear: the rising of the sun from the west; the smoke; the Dajjal; the beast; the (death) of one of your favorite, or general affliction).
Finally, we ask Allah to enlighten our hearts and minds, and guide us to seek Islamic knowledge. O Allah, we ask You for a good end to our lives.
